- The Player Please Badge: Earned when you check in to the same location as three members of the opposite sex
- The School Night Badge: Earned when you check in after 3AM (presumably after staying out all night!)
- The Photogenic Badge: Earned when you check into three places that have 'photobooth' as one of their tags
- The Douchebag Badge: Earned when you check into a location with the tag "douchebag"
- The Animal House Badge: Earned when you check into a location with the tag "frat boys"
- The Super Mayor Badge: Earned when you have become the mayor (most frequented visitor in the last 2 months) of 10 or more locations
Multiple Checkins
Some Foursquare badges don't only require you to check into a certain location - they require you to check into a location or group of locations multiple times.
- The Jetset Badge: Earned when you have checked into five different airports
- The Zoetrope Badge: Earned when you have 10 movie theater check ins
- The Pizzaiolo Badge: Earned when you have checked into 20 different pizza places
- The Jobs Badge: Earned when you have checked into three different Apple store locations
- The Barista Badge: Earned when you check into 5 different Starbucks locations

Some of the badges on Foursquare require users to check into a specific location in the US.

- The Top Chef Badge: Earned when you have checked into a restaurant tagged with a hidden code as part of Bravo presentation
